Star Wars Returns to Big Screen, Animated This Time

Written by admin on Thursday, February 14th, 2008 in Gadgets.

As much as I love the Star Wars universe, I’m not quite a die-hard, follow every piece of news fan. So I only saw the bit about the new movie yesterday. Lucasfilm is releasing a brand new (animated) movie about the Clone Wars. It will be released Aug 15 in North America. This is to be followed up with a weekly TV series on the Cartoon Network. They’ve already got 30 30-min episodes in the bag.

Fans will also love that Lucasfilm is also putting out Web-only documentaries on the making of the Clone Wars. Well it has been a while since I’ve gotten a brand new Star Wars fix, so I can’t wait!

Most entertaining Elmo yet

Most entertaining Elmo yet

Everyone knows Sesame Street’s Elmo, and that red colored furry creature has seen his fair share of (monster, pardon the pun) sales in the past especially during the holiday seasons of yore where parents were frenzied enough to line up outside toy stores just to pick up a Tickle Me Elmo for their kids. This year, Elmo is back with a vengeance from Fisher-Price, whom the latter touts the former to being the most engaging and entertaining Elmo to day. Known as Elmo Live, this feature plush ups the ante where realistic, interactive play is concerned. For the first time in our lives, we will be able to see Elmo open and close his mouth while speaking just like the real muppet as seen on TV. (Read the full post about ‘Most entertaining Elmo yet’…)

Subscription-based Everex Zonbu laptop reviewed
Posted Feb 14th 2008 12:27PM by Donald MelansonFiled under: Laptops PC Mag wasn’t exactly bowled over by the subscription-based Zonbu desktop, but that didn’t stop them from coming back for another go ’round with the similarly subscription-happy Zonbu laptop, which they found a bit more to like about. While they again found the low upfront cost ($279, in this case) to be the the laptop’s biggest selling point, they also found it to be a good deal more capable than the desktop, thanks in no small part to its 60GB hard drive (as opposed to the 4GB flash drive and 25GB of online storage the desktop offered). Toshiba cell sensor detects hazardous substances

Toshiba cell sensor detects hazardous substances

Toshiba has successfully worked on a cell sensor which is capable of detecting hazardous substances, and the Japanese technology giant is currently exhibiting it at Nano Tech 2008 - an international comprehensive exhibition on nano technology. How does this sensor work exactly? Well, for starters, it comes incorporated with genes of enzyme and firefly luciferase which is capable of binding hazardous substances like dioxin, polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) and brominated flame retardants. This marks the first time Toshiba’s sensor has been unleashed upon the public, although there is no concrete date from Toshiba on deciding its commercialization schedule. I like Valentine’s Day, especially in Japan.  You see, in Japan men are not expected to give any chocolates at all.  Women give chocolates to men.  We are inclined to reciprocate in March for White Day, but that is another story.  What I love is actually the post Valentine’s Day chocolate glut.  You can get some high quality chocolates for a fraction of the price that you would normally pay.  This weekend I am going to try to rustle me up this Carmania Chocolate V2 set. Sin City Game Bound for Greatness with Sim City Creator Jeff Braun on Board?
For the latest info on the coolest gadgets, emerging technology and wired madness, subscribe to our full news feed or have it delivered to your inbox. Always free. Always unique. Thanks for visiting!  Red Mile has produced some shockers in the past, I don’t think that Grip Shift ever really did it for everyone and Jackass the Game was a stinker in every possible way.  The news that Red Mile has recruited some major talent in the form of Jeff Braun makes me hopeful that the 2009 release of the Sin City game has some real potential.  Jeff Braun, was the founder of Maxis and a co-creator of the SimCity franchise.  With Braun on board as strategic adviser, Red Mile should be heading in the right direction, for once. T-PLS Grappling Gun is Finally Reality

T-PLS Grappling Gun is Finally Reality

Question: What do Batman, Spider-man, and Tarzan have in common? Answer: They both travel via swinging, and so can you. Digital Force Technologies actually invented something straight from the movies and my adventurous dreams with the T-PLS pneumatic “tactical line-throwing system”. I don’t know about you, but when I saw the photo here, my eyes practically bulged out. All I could think of was: “Wow, someone finally invented a grappling hook gun”. Let’s face it, we all have all wanted one of these things at sometime or another. The other day I was in a large building and thought: “Why do I really have to walk to the other side? Tap your own phone line with Teleport 2.0

Tap your own phone line with Teleport 2.0

I’ve never really thought that anyone was “out to get me.” Sure, back in the day I thought I was going to get into some hot water over all of those Napster downloads I did (I was on dial-up at the time, so couldn’t have downloaded that many), but never to the point where I thought that someone was tracing my calls, or that I should be recording calls I received. However, were I needing something to do just that, I’d probably consider the Teleport 2.0. This neat little gadget hooks into your phone line and stores all of the information about your incoming and outgoing calls such as caller ID and numbers dialed. Of course every time you pick up the phone, it starts recording and sends the data to your computer via USB. (Read the full post about ‘Tap your own phone line with Teleport 2.0′…)

Rare Nintendo Championships Gold Unpwned by Fred Savage’s Little Brother
For the latest info on the coolest gadgets, emerging technology and wired madness, subscribe to our full news feed or have it delivered to your inbox. Always free. Always unique. Thanks for visiting!  Electronic sports as we know them really got a boost back in the days of the Nintendo Entertainment System. The Nintendo World Championships were based on a monstrosity of a movie called The Wizard, which hopefully you either don’t remember or are too young to remember. The movie just seemed like one long commercial for the Power Glove which came out in the same year. Still, it was a golden time for Nintendo, way back before Sony had ever considered throwing their hat in the gaming console ring and PCs were still fetching as much as a good used car. RNC Valentine’s Day Cards: You will LOL

RNC Valentine’s Day Cards: You will LOL
There’s not much that will get me blogging about the Republican National Committee (RNC). However, they’ve had a creative Valentine’s Day streak that’s remarkably hilarious (aw . . . they’re pretty hilarious when they’re serious too). There are six designs to choose from; three Obama and three Clinton. Each has a goofy-but-glib statement. Here are my two favorites: Tags: MP3, games, tech, gaming (Read the full post about ‘RNC Valentine’s Day Cards: You will LOL’…)
