Garmin announces new Nuvi 900T; for Italy only

Written by admin on March 5th, 2008 in Gadgets.

Unfortunately, this new Garmin GPS seems to be a real nice model but it’s slated to only be available in Italy. One of the main features of the 900T is that it combines portable TV with GPS. The TV is provided by a DVB-H receiver.

“The nuvi 900T is the ultimate device for those who want to mix business with pleasure,” said Dan Bartel, Garmin’s vice president of worldwide sales. “The new nuvi 900T can play live, streaming digital television and music files. But at its core, the device remains a robust and full-featured navigation device that’s straightforward enough for anyone to use.”

The live TV is mainly provided by La3 TV, and if you were to buy one of these units, you would receive a complimentary 6 month subscription to get the La3 TV service. With this service, you are able to receive news, sports, movies, and other forms of entertainment. Additionally, you are able to get many channels including Sky, Mediaset, Rai, along with other channels produced by La3 Live and La3 Sport.

Aside from being an Italian release only, there is no word on pricing for the Nuvi 900T. Don’t expect a high end GPS such as this one to come cheap, however, if you live in Italy, then this is definitely one to consider.
