FIT cellphone concept to make cellphone users “fitter”
I don’t know where manufacturers got the idea that gadgets and exercise buffs would go good together, so I’m genuinely surprised every time I see a new “sports trainer phone”, “diet tracking device” or other similar gadget. These things, of course, more often than not die faster than a flame inside a hurricane, of course that shouldn’t stop new concepts from coming out of the woods now, should it? Especially not one that uses back-to-back OLED multi-touch screens, a compact hydrogen battery and dual-core processors. The FIT cellphone concept uses existing technology in order to track a user’s performance. (Read the full post about ‘FIT cellphone concept to make cellphone users “fitter”’…)

YouTube now allows video viewing in high quality
YouTube has launched a new feature that lets users select the quality of videos that they watch. Currently available and can be seen in some video streams, YouTube is aiming to make this feature available to more video content later on. High-quality video viewing here pertains to all video contents uploaded to YouTube and is not restricted video contents from YouTube partners. To enjoy watching high quality videos, go to your YouTube account page. At the lower portion of the account settings you would find an additional link under the “Account” heading. Click on the ”Video Playback Quality” and just select how you want to watch YouTube videos. (Read the full post about ‘YouTube now allows video viewing in high quality’…)

Dell’s innovative and stunning desktop system, the XPS One has arrived in UK, French and German stores. Although four months later than it was released in the Japanese and US markets, the inspiring Dell machine should still hit it big in the European market. Geico’s latest spoof, a new dating portal dubbed iHeartCavemem.com
Geico has launched a spoof dating and match website called iHeartCavemen.com. It’s basically a mock dating website for users on the web. Other than those normal features such as photo albums and a user profile section, this portal steps out from other dating portals with its special features. Morphing is one of them and this is how it works, male site visitors can be morphed to look their best as caveman suitors. Other than that, for female site visitors, they can have a glimpse on what their cavebaby might look like. It also features an entertainment portal for video profiles and dates of the pining caveman. The tools are easy to navigate and with all the special additional features, this makes the iHeartCaveman site fun to mess around with for a while. Cuba having a change of heart; decides to allow computer, DVD player sales
While most of us take the latest and greatest computer for granted, or at least the fact that we are easily able to purchase a computer. Not to mention we seem to be very worried about the next-generation movie players and have all gotten caught up in the recent format war (where Blu-ray came out victorious). But what if those options had not been available to us? Being very into tech it’s easy to forget that some people may not be able to purchase such devices, not because of a financial reason but because their government did not allow it. While I will not dive to far into Communism here, it is with very good news that there are some signs of change in Cuba, even if it is just a little at a time. XLink Cellular Gateway turns Bluetooth-enabled cellphones into landlines
At this point in my life, I don’t know how I managed to live through all those years with my corded landline phone. I mean, sure, it’s still a great way to communicate when it comes to voice but at a time when almost everything is about to go completely wireless I don’t see where it’ll fit. I honestly think landlines would be best displayed in any museum of ancient history, but the XLink Bluetooth Gateway aims to prove otherwise. Using Bluetooth technology, it will link your mobile phone to your landline so that you can answer calls to either phone via any of the two. Meaning, if a call comes in on your cellphone, you can use the landline to answer it. (Read the full post about ‘XLink Cellular Gateway turns Bluetooth-enabled cellphones into landlines’…)

Verizon announces the cameraless Motorola RIZR Z6cx
I’m surprised about this new Verizon phone, almost all phones that I know of come with a camera, whether it is a good or a bad one is another story. A camera on a cell phone is usually very useful and fun to play around with, however, this new phone doesn’t seem to come with a camera. Basically, this phone is an addition of their popular Motorola RIZR Z6. The weird thing is that it comes with less features than the Z6c, which is basically the lack of the camera. So far, this phone has already gone live up on the Verizon Wireless site, but there’s not too much of a difference between this phone and its brother, the Z6c. It has been reported that all the “x” on the Motorola RIZR Z6cx stands for is no camera. (Read the full post about ‘Verizon announces the cameraless Motorola RIZR Z6cx’…)

Nike’s SportBand ready for April launch?
Posted Mar 15th 2008 10:42AM by Darren MurphFiled under: Wearables Make of it what you will, but Germany’s own Mac Life has apparently grabbed hold of a few more details concerning that SportBand we saw sashay into the FCC’s database late last month. Reportedly, the unit isn’t meant to replace the Nike+ipod system; rather, it’s an alternative for runners who’d prefer not to have earbuds in and a DAP on their person when logging their treks. As expected, time, speed, distance and calories will all be tracked, and each run can be captured and stored on the outfit’s website after you thumb a ride back home. We’re told to expect said device in April for €59.95 ($93), but only time will tell if that’s an accurate assertion (and true worldw (Read the full post about ‘Nike’s SportBand ready for April launch?’…)

Researchers create sour milk alarm
Posted Mar 15th 2008 9:26AM by Joshua TopolskyFiled under: Household Finally, the days of ruined breakfasts and tossed cups of coffee will be a thing of the past, thanks to work being done by researchers in the US and China. Scientists have discovered a simple chemical reaction that can sense if your 2 percent has lost its charm before you get it home and crack it open. The system works by floating a small widget in the milk which can be scanned at a supermarket checkout by magnet — the device will vibrate slowly if the liquid has thickened. The same will occur if the potentially harmful bug Staphylococcus aureus — which can cause food poisoning — thins the consistency of the milk.
