Western Digital has announced My Passport Elite, a new portable hard drive which is available in a 250BG and 350GB storage capacity. WD is touting this new portable hard drive as easy to grip, comfortable to hold and a beautiful device to show off to your friends. But the best part perhaps of this new portable hard drive is its size which is small enough to fit in one’s pocket.
Could you imagine yourself having 320GB of photos, audio and video files inside your pocket? Even more absurd and yet useful is the fact that you can carry it anywhere you go and plug it into any compatible PC and laptop anytime, anywhere? That’s definitely putting a lot of value to the price you have to pay for a nifty little device such as the WD Passport Elite. That price is actually $169.99 for the 250GB and $199.99 for the 350GB. If you have the budget, you can get both and have a massive 600GB of storage capacity.
The WD My Passport Elite comes in four color variants - bronze, titanium, Westminster blue and the sweet looking cherry red. The portable hard drive offers a soft-touch finish and weighs less than 5 ounces. So you would definitely not get tired from carrying it around. WD even made it sweeter by including a capacity gauge that displays how much space is still available.
And the goodies keep on getting better, with a pre-installed Windows-only backup and synchronization software, gaming console support, USB bus-powered and Google search software for searching and managing through files stored in the hard disk.
