Nokia N82 Review - Bangkok Post

Written by admin on Tuesday, April 1st, 2008 in Gadgets.

Nokia N82 Review - Bangkok Post
The Bangkok Post reviews the Nokia N82 and writes, “As a camera-phone, the N82 is on par with the Sony Ericsson K850i Cyber-shot, and, in certain cases, betters it in terms of image quality. But, on the other hand, the K850i has dedicated camera controls that can enhance user experience when shooting. Overall, the N82 is a great all-round phone. Despite some niggles that could have been avoided, we’d still recommend it.” Read more about the Nokia N82. Posted Apr 1st 2008 4:21PM by Donald MelansonFiled under: LaptopsWe’ve already heard about some of Intel’s future Atom plans, and heard just how little it’ll apparently cost the company to produce ‘em, but now thanks to a PDF kindly let loose by the chipmaker, we finally have some official word as to when we can actually expect to see ‘em. As UMPC Portal reports, the PDF released in conjunction with the currently-happening Intel Developer Forums indicates that the processor will get a worldwide launch this June, which is a tad later than some had expected. Painting the town magenta
Posted Apr 1st 2008 12:31PM by Ryan BlockFiled under: Meta After yesterday’s very real and not-at-all-fake story about Deutsche Telekom demanding Engadget discontinue using the color magenta, and today being what it is, we’re putting up some new wallpaper on all the Engadget sites and ever so slightly tweaking Engadget Mobile’s logo. We hope you approve!P.S. -In a related side note, our old pals at Phone Scoop pinged us earlier this morning to let us know they’ve gone magenta for the day in an act of solidarity! Much love, Phone Scoop! (Read the full post about ‘Painting the town magenta’…)

Nokia N810 with WiMAX in the wild

Nokia N810 with WiMAX in the wild
While technically, the April 1 release of Nokia’s WiMAX-enabled N810 is still just a rumor, more evidence suggests that this might be more than just a distinct possibility. Especially now that CTIA is well on its way, its quite easy to see how all these “in the wild” photos end up in public. The image above came from a Nokia employee’s Flickr page with two others, but checking on it now, you’ll find that these photos have been removed. Good thing a forum member at Internet Tablet Talk saved a copy of the first one, or else there would be no way to prove the integrity of this rumor. Perhaps tomorrow, we’ll see some official N810 product shots, and maybe even the Flickr photos will be restored on the Net by its owner. Posted Apr 1st 2008 5:07AM by Thomas RickerFiled under: Gaming, HDTVOk, here we go again. Despite Microsoft’s attempt to quash Xbox 360 Blu-ray rumors, they’re back… with a vengeance. According to “industry sources” speaking to DigiTimes, Lite-On is developing built-in Blu-ray Disc drives for the “next generation” Xbox 360 game console. Lite-On is expected to begin shipping the new BD players for assembly in the second half of 2008. DigiTimes also claims that the new, presumably smaller Xbox 360 will reduce the power supply from 210-watts to 170-watts. Japanese-only ‘pink-edition’ of Windows Vista Home Premium

Written by admin on Tuesday, April 1st, 2008 in Gadgets.

Japanese-only ‘pink-edition’ of Windows Vista Home Premium
If you live in Japan and you don’t have Vista yet, why not pick up this Windows Vista Home Premium and Windows Live OneCare bundle that is packaged in a hot pink box decorated with cherry blossoms, which are called sakura in Japan. The Live OneCare subscription is good for one year, and the box also includes a Vista tips and tricks book. It makes sense that this is for Vista Home Premium as I can’t imagine Vista Business being in a pink box! This is sure to be a collector’s item, as this special edition is limited to only 2500 copies. So whoever buys this better not throw that box away. Yes, the pink color and the petals are girly, but that goes along with the Japanese cuteness concept. (Read the full post about ‘Japanese-only ‘pink-edition’ of Windows Vista Home Premium’…)
