Creative releases the Vado Pocket Video Cam

Weighing just 2.96-ounces and measuring 3.94 x 2.16 x 0.63-inches, you wouldn’t think that this video camera could give out good 640×480 quality video as well as pack in 2GB of built-in flash memory. Korean village runs exclusively on solar power

Written by admin on Wednesday, May 14th, 2008 in Gadgets.

We recently published a story about the US town that switched over to run exclusively on wind power. Now we’re pleased to see this story of a Korean village that runs 100% on solar power. All of the homes and the school have solar panels on the rooftops. The island that the village is on also has a wind farm that will soon account for 20% of electricity needs. Looking forward to seeing more of these success stories!

Spoil yourself with Cake Royale flash drives
Okay, they’ve done it again. Created some more “foodie” flash drives, I mean. And this time around, it’s a tribute to cakes – say hello to the Cake Royale Series of USB drives. Targeted to budding geeks - age 14 upwards - the USB 2.0 series has some really gorgeous-looking cakes. Black Forest, Strawberry Torte, Fruit Plate Cake and the French Mille-Feuille. In case you’re wondering where the USB tip is (I was too), the flash drive is actually the knob-like structure with the crown stamped upon it, and lodges itself completely into the body of the cake. The drives will be available in capacities up to 4GB sometime this month, no word on pricing yet. Via Fosfor gadgets. (Read the full post about ‘Spoil yourself with Cake Royale flash drives’…)

Thirsty Light Blinks

Thirsty Light Blinks
There are people who tend to over water their plants, but more importantly most people do not give enough water. The Thirsty Light Blinks helps solve this dilemma by letting your “plants” speak with you. This unique detector is a digital moisture meter that uses a patented process that interpret readings it obtains from the soil, offering you a (claimed) more precise measurement of the potting medium’s dryness, unlike other detectors that are readily available in the market. You will know when it is time to bust out that dusty watering can by seeing whether it blinks or not. for those who do not have green thumbs and literally need a signal whenever their plants get thirsty. Casio Baby G line gets new addition
Casio’s Baby G line has been around for donkey years now, and it looks set to stay for a long time moroe. There is a new release in this ladies’ range, and they are part of the BG-2000/2001 series which are not only meant to be easy to use but fashionable and funky at the same time. While it will fall short in terms of specifications compared to its G series predecessors, at least it looks good enough to warrant a purchase. Ah, if only the dollar isn’t in a free fall at the moment - so many new shiny toys to buy, yet so few dollars to splash around. Bummer. RINGBO the riding robot is for kids, the song is for everyone

RINGBO the riding robot is for kids, the song is for everyone
by Joshua Fruhlinger, posted May 13th 2008 at 2:55PM Why is this child so happy? It’s because he’s taking RINGBO the riding robot by the horns! See his glee as he cruises around for an entire hour at a blazing 2MPH? Hey, it only took six hours to charge up. RINGBO is controlled by those horn-like joysticks, and we can only hope that front panel contains an IR receiver — one that might give parents hours of pleasure as they override their kids’ intended direction. RINGBO will be shown by Airrobot at this week’s Koreannovation Trade Show in NYC, so we’ll be sure to bring our offspring, as it’s meant for children aged 2-3 and up to 66lbs. We just want to know two things: how much, and can we cheat the 66lb weight limit? (Read the full post about ‘RINGBO the riding robot is for kids, the song is for everyone’…)
