Audi Q5 to boast NVIDIA-powered interface, gadgets aplenty
by Donald Melanson, posted Jun 5th 2008 at 4:36PM Audi is certainly no stranger to cramming some less-than-common technology into its vehicles, and it looks like its new Q5 compact crossover vehicle is no exception, with it set to roll out of the factory later this year with some NVIDIA-powered graphics. That comes in the form of the vehicle’s Harman/Becker-designed MMI (Multi-Media Interface) “3G infotainment system,” which relies on an unspecified NVIDIA graphics processor to provide smooth map transitions, along with photorealistic depictions of points of interest and other eye candy. Pac-Man Roomba created with 448 LEDs
by Darren Murph, posted Jun 5th 2008 at 6:31AM We were beginning to wonder if the Roomba hacking community had been sucked dry of ideas, but leave it to longjie0723 to give us hope yet. This Roomba hacker (yeah, he also rigged his up for Wiimote control) managed to solder 448 yellow LEDs onto a board and program said devices to move in such a way that a Pac-Man-type image is seen. C’mon, who hasn’t dreamed of having that ghost-inhaler work his magic on those forsaken floors? (Read the full post about ‘Pac-Man Roomba created with 448 LEDs’…)

Ben Heck and eDimensional’s Access Controller for one-handed gamers
by Joshua Fruhlinger, posted Jun 5th 2008 at 1:51PM Leave it to Ben Heck to create something that’s not only cool, but also good for humanity. We’ve had our eyes on the Access Controller, and now it has an actual retail channel and final design. The eDimensional Access Controller enables one-handed gaming in a completely modular design. Each control function module can be rearranged based on the gamer’s needs — even the act of rearranging of modules can be done with one hand. Ben, the nice guy that he is, also includes a custom module-creation guide if you’re so inclined. The controller is also designed with a concave back to sit comfortably on either a table or leg and uses 2.4GHz wireless. Leaked live images Palm Treo 800w
Some more images of the upcoming Palm Treo 800w have been making their way around the Internet, the latest however are pretty clear, well clear compared to some previous leaked images anyway, and show off both the front and back side. The Sprint-branded Treo 800w, as if the “w” was not indication enough is clearly pictured running non other than Windows Mobile as the OS. Overall a slightly better looking Treo than previous models, but it seems that there is nothing much to get overly excited about. In regards to the iPhone, here’s what we know today: Apple.com lists the iPhone as “Currently Unavailable.” Stock is so low that you can’t buy it. Hong Kong, China not masters of their domains, says McAfee
Whenever an Internet security company issues a report or study about the state of Internet security, your first reaction should focus on checking the security of your wallet. Fear became a big part of the marketing plans for security companies ever since the Melissa and I Love You viruses hit around the turn of the new century; Sept. 11th cemented the sales game plan by adding cyberterrorism concerns to the mix. Tech journalists have to balance that cynicism with the need to pass along information that helps promote safe Internet practices for businesses and consumers.
