SanDisk announces MusicGremlin acquisition
SanDisk has announced they have purchased MusicGremlin, which for those of you who cannot remember, were perhaps way ahead of their time when they released their MusicGremlin Wi-Fi mp3 player a few years back. This terms of the sale were, of course, undisclosed and the details as to just what SanDisk has in the works remains a mystery. We do however know that the acquisition will fall under SanDisk’s Sansa audio/video business unit. Daniel Schreiber, general manager and senior vice president for SanDisk’s Sansa audio/video business unit stated that; “MusicGremlin’s digital distribution platform and capabilities will provide SanDisk with adaptive and innovative technology that will play a key role in the development of future Sansa products for consumers,” While as far as we can remember the big catch on the MusicGremlin, although it was not well received at the time was the built-in Wi-Fi. HP’s “Connects Your World” Lives Up To Its Name
HP unveiled many of their newest products at their 3-day “Connecting Your World” event in Berlin yesterday. Some of the highlights include a whopping 16 new business and consumer laptop models, including the HP Pavilion DV Series notebooks. This series include the d4, d5, d7, and tx25000 which have webcams, fingerprint readers, HD tuners, and Blu-ray drives. They also come with 3G internet, not unlike a certain phone from Mac. HP also showed off two Voodoo models, the Omen and the Envy 133. The Envy 133 is pictured here to the above left, and is available in both white or black. Believe it or not, the Envy 133 is actually the thinnest notebook alive, even more thin than that one by Mac. (Read the full post about ‘HP’s “Connects Your World” Lives Up To Its Name’…)

A new way to punish YouTube offenders

A new way to punish YouTube offenders
Most criminals are stupid, but those who video themselves doing the crime and then post it on YouTube are in a whole new league. But to be fair it makes the lives of the police a lot easier as you already have video evidence of not only the person, but the crime committed. So surely moves to punish people for putting these videos on the internet are misguided (as they would then be less likely to put the videos on the internet and therefore making themselves harder to catch). Anyway, it would appear one Judge has recognized this and come up with a different kind of punishment: where the offender must post an apology for their crime on the internet. Gadgetell Review: Navigon 2100 Max GPS

Gadgetell Review: Navigon 2100 Max GPS
Product: Navigon 2100 Max GPS Price and Availability: Currently available and retailing for $299 Rating: 7/10 Pros: Large, easy to see display. The unit was easy to use and easy to set up. Cons: Lacks auto shut off, seemed sluggish at times. Overall: A nice GPS, but one that could be much better with a slightly lower price. This was an interesting review for me, as I had time to not only review it myself, but the opportunity to travel with both friends and family members and was able to bring it along and get some additional opinions. Everyone I showed the 2100 Max to was in awe over the overall style and look as well as the ease of use, most were also fairly happy with the price. The unit offers a 4.3-inch touchscreen display that was more than sufficient and displayed either the 2-D or 3-D Reality mode very well. Epson’s NX400 all-in-one printer delivers the goods at a cheap price
Epson has recently launched a new line of all-in-one printers that is geared for household printing needs, and to kickstart this new printer series, Epson has also launched its flagship model, the affordable NX400 all-in-one printer. And when we say affordable, we mean dirt cheap with a retail price of $99.99. But don’t worry, despite its cheap price, the NX400’s features don’t seem to be cheap at all. The NX400 is a full-featured printer that utilizes Epson’s DURAbrite Ultra ink for a smudge-free print. In terms of performance, the NX400 delivers as well with 34ppm for black and color text printing. You can also have a 4 x 6-inch borderless photo printed in just 26 second. Iomega’s DVR Expander does 500GB of eSATA storage for SA DVRs

So, your cable company stuck you with one of those boring, no-frills Scientific Atlanta DVR boxes. We feel your pain, but you don’t have to just take it lying down. Iomega’s new DVR Expander offers up 500GB of extra storage over eSATA for compatible Scientific Atlanta boxen. That’s about 300 hours of SD TV, or 60 hours of HD. Using those incredibly intuitive SA menus it shouldn’t be too hard to stumble through configuration and get this thing added on to your setup, and there’s even an eSATA cable included to start things off on the right foot, but it’s not like there’s anything going on here other than a fairly standard-issue eSATA drive. Goodbye Canon Rebel XTI, Hello Rebel XS
Canon has finally decided to update its popular entry-level digital single lens reflex camera, the Rebel XTI with a newer model donning the name Canon EOS Rebel XS. The new Rebel XS comes on the heels of the more advanced Rebel XSi which Canon announced a couple of months ago. And possibly due to the growing demand for a lower cost entry-level DSLR, Canon decided to come up with another model that would cater to the entry-level photo enthusiasts who are not yet willing to pay the price of the the XSi. So, what does the new Rebel XS has in store for us? There’s quite a lot actually and for those who still have the older Rebel XTi, you would easily notice some resemblance between the XTi and the XS models.
