eDeck: Real mobile gambling for Venetian high rollers

eDeck: Real mobile gambling for Venetian high rollers
Even though I cringed with each pull on a $5 slot machine, I still like the idea of Cantor Gaming’s new eDeck handheld gambling device. Available for high rollers (i.e., those who wrap chewed gum in $50 bills to play trash-can basketball with), the mobile gaming unit taps into the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas and allows gamblers to play slots, blackjack, and other games from the High Limit Slot Salon. Why would this appeal to someone like me, who now sticks to quarter slots? Sentimental reasons, really. First, my husband and I got married at the Venetian. Second, my parents go to Vegas three to four times a year (no joke) because my mom loves to gamble. Third, my best friend lives in Vegas. Wake n’Bacon Alarm Clock gets you up with a whiff
Some of you probably have a lot of trouble getting up in the morning. Perhaps what you need is a little more motivation than a loud sound, but maybe just a little motivational smell. Something like the fresh smell of cooked bacon might be just the ticket. This is where the Wake n’Bacon comes into play. This is an alarm designed to wake up the user with the smell of freshly cooked bacon. All that is required is that the user put in a frozen strip into the alarm, and it will start cooking up 10 minutes before the alarm sounds. Once the smell wafts out, you can act like that dog on the Beggin’ Strips ad: “I smell bacon. Where’s the bacon? (Read the full post about ‘Wake n’Bacon Alarm Clock gets you up with a whiff’…)

Apology Form makes saying “Sorry!” easier
I never had much problem apologizing for the things I do wrong. Though, of course, I never do anything wrong. Just ask my parole officer. But for some of you gadgeteers out there, communicating an apology might be one of the hardest things for you to do. And you’re not alone. Thankfully, there’s a way to apologize without having to be respectful enough to do it face to face with the victim. These handy pads of Apology Forms provide a nice little template for saying your sorry, the easy way. Not to mention, it hosts a list of some truly awesome excuses. So, you left the toilet seat up, and your wife is pissed off. Ok, I guess that’s understandable. (Read the full post about ‘Apology Form makes saying “Sorry!” easier’…)

DogFree Snack Launcher

DogFree Snack Launcher
Surprisingly (or maybe not so surprising, depending on how you look at it), this is not the first of its kind. Back in 2006, we wrote about the SnackShotz Treat Launcher. While the SnackShotz has a similar concept, this DogFree Snack Launcher is totally cooler and much more practical. Just take a look and compare, you’ll see for yourself. The DogFree Snack Launcher adds an interesting new twist for spoiling your canine companion. Load the launcher with your dog’s favorite treat and press the trigger. The treat will launch far enough to add the extra incentive of fetch into the treat process. The result? More fun than traditional treat feeding, for both you and your wonder pooch. Stressed? Smash Your Monitor As a Stress-Reliever

Stressed? Smash Your Monitor As a Stress-Reliever
Stress is a huge part of everyday living. I’ve seen a lot of ways people relieve themselves of it–from breaking plates to sweating it out to sleeping on it until it ebbs away. But what about for those of us who sit in front of the computer for long periods of time. Professionals working in front of a screen could get so tired of the monitor, there are times when there’s this pressing desire to smash it to bits. That, of course, is not an option unless you can afford replacing computer parts every few months. With the help of ScreenSmasher though, you smash your monitor without actually breaking it. ScreenSmasher is a software which shows you a realistic smashed monitor complete with appropriate sound effects. (Read the full post about ‘Stressed? Smash Your Monitor As a Stress-Reliever’…)

“Sex and the City” speakers for iPods

I like “Sex and the City” as much as the next person, but the HBO-licensed GraytLittleSpeaker portable ipod speaker is downright hideous.

This Treadmill will have you literally climbing the walls …

This Treadmill will have you literally climbing the walls …
There are many ways to get exercise, most involving treadmills. Astronauts use them to keep in shape while in space, veterinarians use them to rehab Kentucky Derby winners, and even former Olympic swimmers use them to maintain that finely honed swimming stroke. But what about the poor mountain climber? Sure, there are portable rock walls that kids learn to climb at summer camps and adults at county fairs, but they only go about 25 feet high. Challenging for the novice, but once you ring the bell, where’s the challenge? Thanks to the Treadwall, the challenge is not only there, it’s never ending. Yes, it’s a rock wall climber and a treadmill all in one. (Read the full post about ‘This Treadmill will have you literally climbing the walls …’…)

The Robotan Toilet Paper Holder

Written by admin on Thursday, July 31st, 2008 in Gadgets.

The Robotan Toilet Paper Holder
These robot toilet paper holders may not have a single hi-tech feature going for them, but the fact that they’re robot heads just makes up for it.  Although I do wish they automatically ate the toilet paper when too much was hanging down.  Maybe with a random sound effect to go with it.  However, I’m afraid although these are incredibly cool, they are about as low tech as they come. Thankfully, the vendor has included a roll of toilet paper, just in case you don’t have toilet paper where you’re from.  Alright, so it may be 100% recycled toilet paper.  Seriously though, who includes toilet paper?  The head is made out of heavy duty ceramic.  It comes in several bright colors, which includes black, red, white and yellow.  They are a bit pricey though, they are being sold for $49.99.  Which seems like a bit much for something the just hold toilet paper, even if it is a robot head.
