Electric Blue Palm Centro heading to AT&T this Friday

Electric Blue Palm Centro heading to AT&T this Friday
It looks like AT&T will soon be offering another flavor of the hot selling Palm Centro smartphone. The electric blue Palm Centro will be available beginning Friday and in addition to the new color, it will also get a drop in price. Palm however is keeping a tight wrap on just what the lowered price will be, with a simple statement that it will be “more affordable than ever.” Our guess is that (thanks to mail-in-rebates) it will go down as low as $49.99. The new electric blue color will join the existing glacier white and obsidian black that have previously been available. I am sure that not everyone is interested in, or wants an iphone 3G, however July 11 sounds like a strange day to release a new color variety of the Centro. Apple to Rogers: “Oh, Hell Naw!”

Apple to Rogers: “Oh, Hell Naw!”
Canadians have something to be truly pissed about. Finally, the iphone 3G is about to set foot in North America, and Canadian wireless provider Rogers has to lay down some of the worse price plans you could possibly expect, even compared to Canadian wireless standards. To start, there is absolutely no unlimited plan to speak of. The highest data allowance tops off at 2GB and only 300 sent text messages, which for most people is way more data than they’ll ever use in the first place, but even so, for $115 a month, you shouldn’t be setting any limits on anyone. Apple has had it with Rogers and they’re making it very clear. (Read the full post about ‘Apple to Rogers: “Oh, Hell Naw!”’…)

TomTom HD Traffic passes through FCC, expect in States soon

TomTom HD Traffic passes through FCC, expect in States soon
TomTom came out with a GPS that boasts HD traffic capabilities, and it had been a hit in Europe. It recently passed through the FCC, and should be available in the US soon…hopefully. Details are scarce on this GPS, as there is no word on who will be the carrier for this, and how much the services will cost. Basically, HD traffic uses cell phone data to display real time traffic updates. You might be thinking, there are already GPS’ which can give live traffic updates, what makes HD traffic so special? Well, HD traffic gives up to 5 times more traffic data and it covers up to 10 times more roads than GPS’ with basic live traffic updates. Drobo 2 revealed, Firewire added
You remember Drobo, right? The “robot” that stores your data, from Data Robotics.  Well, its been over a year since its launch, and the makers of Drobo have decided to give their product a little update.  Today, the “Drobo 2” has been announced, featuring not one, but two Firewire 800 ports. The device also added a more powerful processor to support the Firewire ports and a quieter case fan. Data Robotics claims that the Firewire ports allow for two times the data transfer speeds, blowing other competitors out of the water. However, the Drobo still lacks any sort of Ethernet/Wi-Fi connectivity. (Read the full post about ‘Drobo 2 revealed, Firewire added’…)

iPhone 3G — What’s it gonna cost you?

iPhone 3G — What’s it gonna cost you?
It’s just a few days until we get our hands on the new 3G iphone and now we have some idea of the pricing from AT&T. Just how much will AT&T gouge their customers already under contract but who are not eligible for an upgrade yet? On their website, AT&T reveals that customers not eligible for an upgrade will have to pay $399 for an 8GB iPhone 3G and $499 for the 16GB version. (Also, AT&T has announced that they will offer no-contract-required iPhones in the future at $599 and $699 price points.) And if you are going to go stand in line, keep in mind that Apple is limiting sales of the iPhone, just like last time, however, they will let you purchase up to two, rather than the one per person limit from AT&T. The Original Shocker Electric Chair

The Original Shocker Electric Chair
Do you have a dark and creepy basement, too much money and stupid friends?! Well then this is the chair for you! This chair doesn’t just look menacing, it actually will give you a bit of a shock. Which is the reason there are little straps for your legs. The site claims that there is little or no risk involved. However, those with pace makers and/or a brain might not want to push their luck on this one. I keep hoping that the whole thing is a simulation, but there is no way to actually confirm that on their site. I especially hope the part where they state “see the smoke rise as the voltage is increased” has at least fake smoke involved or they are exaggerating.
