HORI Real Arcade Pro.EX

Written by admin on Friday, July 11th, 2008 in Gadgets.

HORI Real Arcade Pro.EX
Get your game on with the HORI Real Arcade Pro.EX for the Xbox 360 console. After all, there is nothing quite like a dedicated joystick when it comes to fighting games. Complete with eight oversized buttons to ensure you don’t miss a beat while punching your opponent into a bleeding pulp (on screen anyways), the rounded knob of a joystick works much better than your standard Xbox 360 controller. Hopefully when you are on the ropes, you won’t lose your temper and smash the HORI Real Arcade Pro.EX - after all, you paid good money for it, didn’t you? All the pre-ordered allocation is already out of stock at the moment, so do check back with Play-Asia from time to time if you’re desperately in need of one. TripAdvisor for iPhone users

TripAdvisor for iPhone users
While iPhone users might be a cut above the rest of the tech community due to their ability to fork out insane amounts of dough at the initial release (remember last June’s iPhone that went for $599?), they certainly are human as we are, requiring sustenance to keep on going. Being hungry is a universal feeling that everyone experiences at some point in time, but iPhone users have the advantage of sniffing down some of the best eats in town thanks to the TripAdvisor. TripAdvisor has recently announced a version of its Local Picks restaurant finder at Apple’s recently opened App Store, and it will be available for free. Time Bomb Alarm Clock is sure to drag you out of bed

Time Bomb Alarm Clock is sure to drag you out of bed
One thing that we are never short of as far as gadgets go are novelty alarm clocks.  Having just a normal alarm clock is clearly not an option with some.  This Bomb Alarm Clock even comes complete with a fake fuse to give it a more realistic look.  Then just in case it was unclear it’s a time bomb, it says on the front in bold letters TIME BOMB.  As if we were going to somehow miss that part. The alarm sits as you see in the picture, then when it’s time to wake up it flashes red.  If you want a few more minutes of rest in that warm bed, just pull on the fuse to activate the snooze button.  Being an LED clock it projects the time brightly all night long.  So when tossing and turning in the night you can quickly glance over to see how precious few hours you have left.  The clock uses three AAA batteries and will cost you about $40 or £19.99 from DrinkStuff. GPS navigation for iPhone confirmed

GPS navigation for iPhone confirmed
TeleNav has confirmed they will be on the iPhone 3G using the GPS radio for turn by turn navigation in 3D.  This comes as interesting news for a couple of reasons.  One is Job’s statement that the GPS radio was not strong enough for turn by turn directions and two that Tom-Tom was the front runner in navigation partners. “According to Apple, the iphone’s G.P.S. antenna is much too small to emulate the turn-by-turn navigation of a G.P.S. unit for a vehicle, for example.” -David Pogue Um, OK, so it is strong enough for TeleNav?  Anyone else confused?  More as it develops. Also, I have a suspicion Gizmodo got the new slightly wrong: I believe the app will be available through the App store but you’ll still be char (Read the full post about ‘GPS navigation for iPhone confirmed’…)

Can you transfer purchased iPhone apps to 3G phone?

Can you transfer purchased iPhone apps to 3G phone?
One question I and others have is if I buy from the App store and then later decide to upgrade to the 3G iphone, will these apps transfer or do I have to buy Monkey Ball all over again?  Knowing how much Apple likes to sell things, I presumed the answer to be me digging into my pocket again.  But, no! The consensus seems to be thanks to Fairplay, just like music, you can sync the apps to the new device using iTunes.  This is good news for those with the original iPhone who upgrade to 2.0 and can’t resist playing around with some new applications…it seems as if you can do so without fear of having to buy them all over again once you get a 3G.  And you know you will, every time you access the net over EDGE, you’ll feel slow and the short-bus is honking it’s horn just for you. Pod Driver : Is that an iPod?

Pod Driver : Is that an iPod?
What looks like an iPod that got into an accident is actually a flash drive (USB 2.0) that borrows heavily from its famous cousin. And in the process, retains all the cuteness as well. The face of the drive resembles the ipod and is made of flexible silicon – so that it bends to expose the USB connector when you stick it into your computer. The drive is available in capacities of 1GB ($40) and 2GB ($50). Via Fosfor gadgets. Tags: pvp, dvr, speaker, digital (Read the full post about ‘Pod Driver : Is that an iPod?’…)

Let the Tranquil Sounds Oxygen Bar sing to you

Let the Tranquil Sounds Oxygen Bar sing to you
While the idea of having a personal oxygen bar to de-stress sounds appealing, I must admit that being the hyperactive person that I am severely limits my chances of ever sitting down to enjoy one. Nevertheless, the Tranquil Sounds Oxygen Bar caught my eye since it promises to entertain you as you settle down to catch up on your breathing. And that is accomplished by playing out “tranquil” songs from its in-built player while you relax. The flip side is that there are only 4 pre-loaded songs to choose from. Which means, you will have to take a chance and hope that your music sense is not completely incompatible. Among the other features, the device doesn’t need filter replacements and can also accommodate essential oil for aromatherapy.
