Samsung LE-40A780
Samsung’s new Series 7 LCD HDTV will officially be announced at this year IFA in Berlin at the end of August. The Samsung Series 7 LCD range will consists of two separate ranges, the A750’s and the A780. In this post I will talk about the new Samsung LE-40A780 40-inch LCD HDTV. It appears that the LE-40A780 builds on the A750’s by using LED backlighting with local dimming to drastically improve the dynamic quoted ratio from 70,000:1 to 2,000,000:1 for some serious colours and black levels. The rest of the specifications and features seem to be identical to the A750. Right now only the 40-inch Samsung LE40A780 size has been announced, but hidden somewhere in the press release was the 46-inch LE-46A780, but we think this might have been a typo. Armpit-based displays provide odd form of advertising
by Darren Murph, posted Jul 21st 2008 at 9:01AM Not that London isn’t the unofficial home to weird ads or anything, but this one is just taking things way too far. (Read the full post about ‘Armpit-based displays provide odd form of advertising’…)

Oppo concepts foreshadow new gaming handhelds
by Darren Murph, posted Jul 21st 2008 at 8:15AM Generally speaking, Oppo has stuck to its bread-and-butter: decently stylish PMPs and a well-received family of upscaling DVD players, respectively. Now, however, we’re seeing a trio of concepts which allude to a future unit (or three) boasting gaming functionality. Unfortunately, details beyond that are few and far between, and we’re not even certain of their place of origin. (Read the full post about ‘Oppo concepts foreshadow new gaming handhelds’…)

Wireless Display Blood Pressure Monitor

Written by admin on Monday, July 21st, 2008 in Gadgets.

Wireless Display Blood Pressure Monitor
Most blood pressure monitors we know are portable devices that are wrapped around your arm before it gets to work - this one does the same albeit with a slightly different approach. It comes with a detachable wireless display for optimal viewing. This is the only blood pressure monitor that transmits measurements to a detachable wireless display that can be positioned up to two feet from the main unit for optimal viewing. Easier to use than wraparound cuff models, your arm rests comfortably in the enclosed cuff which inflates with a push of a button. The monitor uses the oscillometric method of measurement to record blood pressure readings accurate to within 3mmHg and pulse rate accurate to within 5%. The CherryPal cloud PC: $249, ready for (the new world) order
by Thomas Ricker, posted Jul 21st 2008 at 7:06AM There’s no OS to speak of, no optical drive, just 4GB of flash storage and 256MB of RAM, and you’re limited to a 400MHz Freescale 5121E processor with integrated graphics under the hood. But the CherryPal desktop PC — just revealed with a $249 price tag — is definitely worth making a fuss over. About the size of a plastic paperback sporting a pair of USB ports and VGA-out, the mini PC plugs directly into the CherryPal Cloud via 802.11b/g WiFi or 10/100 Ethernet for 50GB of free Internet storage, automatic system updates, and access to a number of webified apps (which also reside locally) including iTunes, OpenOffice, and a CherryPal-branded instant messenger and media client (though we figured iTunes would have taken care of the media playback).
